Hassan Al-Banna. (HAB)

Read this book in the car during our 3rd road trip to Kuantan. I was so impatient and felt like telling MrJ all the things I was reading while he was driving and everytime, my punch line would be, "Ok, ni yang last sekali Hny bgtau Abg." Why? Because every single page I read in the book has a great impact on me. And I wanna share that with MrJ. But. But. But. I do not want to be the spoiler coz MrJ wanted to read the book too. Baru feel sikit. By the time we reached Kuantan, MrJ has prolly known half of the content. Hehe. I'm a good story teller, I must say.

Ok, about the book. Who is HAB?

Hassan al-Banna (October 14, 1906 – February 12, 1949, Arabic: حسن البنا) was an Egyptian social and political reformer, best known for founding the Muslim Brotherhood, one of the largest and most influential 20th century Muslim revivalist organizations. Al-Banna's leadership was critical to the growth of the brotherhood during the 1930s and 1940s. (source: Wikipedia)

This book is concentrating on HAB as a father. What was his role in bringing up his 6 children and how he divided his time to be with his family. As a leader and the founder of Jamiat al-Ikhwan al-Muslimun, he could still find quality time to spend with his family. This book basically shares with the readers the stories of a father as told by his children. His children are:

1) Wafa : Anak sulung. Isteri kepada pendakwah terkenal Dr Said Ramadhan al-Buthi. Berumur 17 tahun ketika al-Banna wafat.

2) Ahmad Saiful Islam : Peguam. Bekas anggota parlimen Mesir. Seorang kader Ikhwan yang aktif sehingga kini.

3) Dr Thana : Pensyarah urusan rumahtangga di pelbagai universiti di Arab Saudi. Berumur 11 tahun ketika al-Banna meninggal dunia.

4) Ir Raja’: Engineer. Berumur 5 tahun ketika bapanya meninggal dunia.

5) Dr Hala : Pensyarah kedoktoran di Universiti al-Azhar

6) Dr Istisyhad : Pensyarah ekonomi Islam. Berada dalam kandungan ibunya ketika bapanya syahid.

I'm impressed.

Mana tumpahnya kuah kalau tidak ke nasi.

Berbekalkan panduan yang setiap perkara mempunyai hak yang perlu dipenuhi, Hasan Al-Banna menunjukkan contoh yang baik untuk diteladani mana-mana insan bergelar ayah. Diakui keluarganya, Hasan Al-Banna benar-benar mengambil Rasulullah s.a.w. sebagai pedoman dan panduan hidupnya.

Buku ini menghidangkan kepada masyarakat episod-episod cinta di rumah Hasan Al-Banna. Antara As-syahid dengan ahli keluarganya.

Pembaca akan merasa takjub dengan keteraturan dan ketelitian As-syahid dalam menguruskan keluarga beliau dalam olengan gelombang(baca cabaran) dakwah, tarbiyah, siasah dan pengaturan gerakan jemaah Ikhwanul Muslimin. Insiden-insiden yang dikisahkan oleh anak-anak As-syahid amat berbekas dijiwa, lantas boleh dijadikan inspirasi dan diimplementasi.

Pembaca akan bertemu dengan insan-insan disebalik ketokohan Hasan Al-Banna. Baik kedua ibu bapa beliau, keikhlasan isterinya yang mengkagumkan, dan anak-anaknya yang 6.

This book is for every father. And mother. A good book for parenting. Saya merayu..if you have RM11.50 extra in your pocket, please do invest in this book and read it together with your spouse. If you don't feel like reading, just buy it and give this as a gift to a friend on her/his wedding or to a friend who just got his daddy-ship title from Allah. I'm pretty sure, your small investment would make a big change to those who read it, and change your paradigm on how to become a great father to your children after finished reading it. Moga Allah terima usaha kecil kita nak sampaikan ilmu yang berguna kepada orang lain kerana itulah antara 3 perkara yang boleh menemani kita di alam kubur nanti.
