PakPoi and Nadirah

Nadirah calls this guy - Poi. Pak di pangkal nama sudah hilang. Many people said that Nadirah has a close resemblance of Epoi. And on the other hand they said Epoi look like my dear Arwah Abah. Conclusion: Nadirah looks like Arwah Tok Shaarani, the person that will love Nadirah dearly if he's still around.

As a record, they are still times that I call Nadirah as Epoi. Weird eh? I don't know when it's going to over/stop.

This picture was taken at Tok Pandak's house in Padang Rengas, Perak on Day 2 of Syawal. I really love this picture. It has the essence of love and life. Thank you PakCik Meme for the gorgeous composition and sharing it with us :-)

Kepada PakPoi, selamat menimba ilmu kedoktoran dan keakhiratan di Warsaw. Nantikan kami tiba di sana! Amin.

Little Red Riding Hood

Our Lil Red Riding Hood, posing @ Masjid Muaz b Jabal while waiting for Abi. We were on the way to beraya @ Dr Sam's house.

Seeing her in this red and white strawberry patch dress reminds me of lil Red Riding Hood + Snow White.

Nadirah's 4th day at school was her last.

When I took her home that day, her body was "dedar". I still drag her to Kauthsar that night for Tarawikh prayer. She refused to play with her usual friends at the surau and remained intact with Mummy.

We didn't stay for tazkirah after Tarawikh because she was too cranky and Kakak Hasanah couldn't handle her cry anymore. I put her to sleep early and knew that I won't be sending her to school the day after. Ibu Mai came over that night after the tazkirah. She passed to my mom remedy for Nadirah, prepared by Ayah.

Before Azan subuh, Ibu gave me a call.

"Mummy, (she calls me Mummy and I call her Ibu) Nadirah macam mana? Ok ke?"

"Semalam badan dedar sikit, sekarang macam dah ok cuma tinggal batuk."

"Mummy hantar Nadirah rumah Ibulah hari ni. Ibu dah buat istikharah. Dari semalam nak telefon Mummy tapi dah malam sangat. Doalah Allah beri kekuatan pada Ibu. Ini sudah takdir Allah pada Ibu."

"Ok Ibu, hari ni Mummy hantar Nadirah rumah Ibu."

That conversation ended her school days.

Hanya Allah yang Maha Mengetahui.

Honey for Baby

I've been waiting for nadirah 12 months milestones coz then only I feel safe to let her take honey as daily supplement. All the while, I've read a lot on the side effects of honey if taken by baby under 1yo (thanks to google, but not many researched are done on this) and one of them is called botulisme, so I decided not to let her consume it until she reaches her 12 months birthday. Hope to find a hard science proof saying the adverse/positive effect to baby, in there's any. If it's good, I want to start earlier than 12 mths.

In actual fact, I was too excited and bought her Manuka Honey, the NZ product that is very famous with its UMF (Unique Manuka Factor) at Bangsar Village Organic Shop. The higher the UMF, the better (google mommies). I was very confident and asked the salesgirl for the highest UMF that they have in shop. And gulp, tersedak makcik ini when knowing the UMF 20+ is tagged @ RM200 plus plus for 500g! Gosh. I don't have enough cash and don't own any credit cards either. Just RM100 in my purse. So I did my cover-up story and settled with UMF 10+, RM80 plus plus 500g.

We are diehard honey consumer. Especially my mom. When I reached home and gleefully tayang my hard earned Manuka Honey, we tasted it and erk. Is the honey suppose to taste that weird? It's hard to explain. Rasa mcm ubat. Hard metalic taste, not the usual sweet honey. Kasik sesudu ke Nadirah, instantly she blew it out of her mouth. Adeh. Don't do this to Mummy. Mahal okeh.

I have to find an alternative. Honey is extremely good. And I found the solution alhamdulillah.

Hiraq Wildan for Kids Dates Herbal Essence. Name panjang bukan main.

Now nadirah is on Hiraq Wildan. I'm at peace because this is an IMP product plus it has more than just honey. All the goodness of sunnah food are included + superfood/herb such as - Honey, Habbatussauda, Dates, Buah Tin, Olive Oil, Kismis, Spirulina, Goji, Rozel and Gingko. And most important, she loves it! And me too. Sedap!

Tiger

My lil mucnhkin loves animal to bits so Mummy bought her Baby Einstein Baby Macdonald Flashcard at Popular Wangsa Walk many moons ago. What I like most about this FC is because the cards show real animals [one of GDomann's criteria in buying FC - real images, not illustration], very colourful, have the animal facts at the back of each card and made from high grade hard glossy paper. In addition, the images on FC are the same as the animals in her 4 most favourite Baby Einstein DVDs (out of 26 DVDs) - Baby MacDonald [suka tahap gaban], World Animals [amat suke jugak], Neighbourhood Animals[suke2], Baby Neptune [animals in/on water]; the FC is by product of the 4 DVDs. It's a double bonus coz she can enjoy playing with her friends off-line and at the same time, seeing the same pictures in repetition can boost up her memory power. Alhamdulillah. These DVDs are life saver. They are the only disctration that can keep her away from me when Abi is not around so that I can quickly mandi, solat or cook. Else, she'll hang her body at my knees.

Normally wherever we go, the cards will tag along.[unless they are left @ ibu's]

Ok, last thursday I came to pick up my baby and had the usual chitchat with Ibu.

Ibu said, "Tadi tgk docementary animal dengan Nadirah. Lepas tu keluar-la Tiger. Nadirah pergi cari flashcard Tiger, pastu tunjuk dekat tiger dalam TV."

Masya-Allah. I kissed Nadirah. Speechless kejap Mummy looking at her roaring baby.

Thank you darling baby for giving me one of the best gift ever! Deep down I know you learnt a lot from our sessions. I know you do. Doman refrained me from testing you and I obey. It's hard for me to follow the rule. And now you've proven to Mummy that you know your friends well. Although you didn't see the tigers in real life when we visited the zoo last time, you can still recognize them. Masya-Allah.

Just beware dear, they bite! Aummmmmmmmm!

Weekend at the Zoo

At last, we finally stepped into the Zoo Negara after planning and postponing for many weeks!

Rasanya Mummy Abi yang terlebih excited to go to the Zoo. The Zoo is like 'monkey's feet' away from our home but it took ages for us to make the visit. I can't remember a thing about the zoo tho I must have visited the elephants and girrafes there for many many times during school holidays eons years ago.

We arrived around 10 am and among the earliest to arrive. Before that we stopped at ManjaKu and bought Nadirah a pair of shoes since her old one (given by Aunty Bugs) is too small for her chubby feet. Alhamdulillah, the weather was sunny. After buying the ticket, Abi and Nadirah greeted these two tiny snakes outside the zoo. Aksi berani betol. Jangan cuba di rumah anda tanpa pengawasan pegawai Zoo Negara.

Then we bought the Zoo map (RM2) and started planning our route. Since there'll be an animal show around 11 am at the Open Arena, we decided to walk around the area first so that we didn't miss the show. Among the animals that Nadirah saw were Hornbills, monkeys & co, rabbits, goats, pony, horse, deer, snakes, rhinocerous and bees museum.

15 minutes to 11, we were already seated in the Arena, happily waiting while eating ice-creams and buns. In no time, crowds started to grow and the seats were full before the show began.

The show kicked off with 2 emcees randomly picked kids and asked Qs, whoever got the answers right will be given lolipops. Nadirah many times put her arms up but they didn't layan her. Hey you thought this baby doesn't know how to talk yet ka? If you asked her how to roar, I think the Zoo will probably propose to this little cub to stay with the tigers in the cage ok. Afterall you just have 3 tigers at the moment, that is not enough for the coming Tiger year :p

Then the show started with a big red parrot naikkan national flag. Then followed by seals playing basketball, jumping up and down, clapping hands (flippers) and hmm that's it. Nadirah wasn't really paying attention to the show. She was busy looking at other babies and toddlers around and probably thinking of making new friends I guess.

Bile nak habis ni Abi?

After the show finished, it was getting hotter and hotter and we opted to take the tram instead of walking. Nadirah started grumpy and eating my tudung - a sign for milky time. Soon the tram started moving, nadirah has already snuggled in my arms and ready for lunch. Hoho. That's not a good sign! She's getting sleepy already! Abi took her from me and showed the girrafes and elephants but she was in no mood for animals and started cying. She wanted her meal and her after-lunch-nap too. We had to give in. Nadirah fell asleep seconds after nursing and left Mummy and Abi enjoying the rest of the sight-seeing. We stopped at Nadirah's best friends house - the tigers and lepak at gazebo nearby and ate my home cooked beehoon. Nadirah was then in LalaLand.

LalaLand

We then took the tram again and finished the tour. Basically Nadirah just saw quarter of the zoo so we'll be back again Tiger! Anyhow, we really enjoy the trip. It's like mesmerizing the bits and pieces of our childhood memory. The only thing I can remember about the Zoo was the sight of Abah and Epoi with elephants. When Epoi was tiny, he loves Ally-phants so much. I don't know why. Why eh Epoi?

Backbenches rock!

We'll come again Tiger!

Our Sunday didn't end just yet. Ikea van arrived later that afternoon with our 2nd Billy and Lerbergh that we bought the day before. Thanks to Lana the walking GPS for giving us the quickest direction to Ikea via DUKE-Penchala Link. Hehe. The rest of the day was spent arranging books on both Billy. Puas hati den!

Lerbergh for our kitchen
Billy

Before: Nadirah building blocks with Opah while Abi&Mummy were busy with Billy

Aftermath: Almost done.

All in all, weekend well spent, alhamdulillah :-)

Nadirah is 1!

*back-dated entry*

Alhamdulillah. Allah panjangkan umur Nadirah, Mummy and Abi to see this day! May Allah give us many more years in Iman and great health to be together, Aminnn.

Sorry Nadirah, Mummy is too busy and have no time to update you super duper fast development! *sigh* Seminggu berlalu, Nadirah becomes a brand new Nadirah. Then another week past, another new Nadirah. Phew!

Birthday celebration? We had a small celebration at Kuantan on Sunday morning. Mummy and Abi have decided not to have a smashing birthday bash and settled with a small one, just with Wan. Birthday cake? Haha. We bought at Pasar Tani luar Stadium kat bandar.

Nadirah, your one-year-old-milestone is very very important to Mummy and Abi. So important that we've come out with "Birthday Resolution" just a few days before your big day. Here is our "Birthday Resolution":

Nadirah sayang,

Birthday is about giving, not receiving. As we grow a year older, Allah has given us the opportunity to see another year in Iman, in good health, lots of rezeki, happy family and bountiful of nikmat Allah. Mummy and Abi want you to 'celebrate' each new year of your life by giving 10 times more of your age. Why 10? No reason. It's just a number.

So for your 1st birthday, Mummy took out RM10 from your tabung and give it too those who are less fortunate in Rantau Panjang. You were there right sayang when MP Ust Zailah walked us through the whole story of the constituent. How difficult they are to survive from day to day without enough income. Sayang, our apartment is not spacious, but we have everything in the this place we call home. People in Rantau Panjang, some don't even have a roof! Let alone a Slumberland bed to sleep on. There is one family live under the pieces of zink of their burned down house. Ya Allah, Alhamdulillah for everything you have given us. Alhamdulillah.

Nadirah, even when Mummy and Abi are not around anymore, please remember to donate everytime Allah give you another year to see 17th January ok? And of course throughout the year too. Moga Allah give you a great barakah year, with iman ilmu and taqwa. Amin.

Mummy loves you. :*

The birthday girl waiting for the birthday cake.
Where's my cake Mummy?

Cutting the cake with Abi. It's a corn cake. Can you see the candle?

I want! I want! Leave me alone!

:*

HnyB @ 11

I was only away for 5 days from the office's desk (since Friday) but I felt like ages!

There were so many things I'd like to ramble but I think I should start with a happier note first and of course, about my darling Nadirah.

Mummy: Nadirah, clap your hands..
Nadirah: (clap her hands)

Mummy: Nadirah, where's your tounge?
Nadirah: (jelir lidah)

Mummy: Opah..Pah..Pah..
Nadirah: Pah..Pah..Pah.. (suara sungguh lembut lagi halus)

Yesterday @ Manja TomYam
Mummy: Nadirah, that's a car. That's another car. Car..Car..Car..
Nadirah: Kar...Kar..Kar.. (sungguh cute)

On top of that:

Ma ma ma ma.. (kalo Mummy dukung)
Ba ba ba ba.. (bile dengan Abi)
Da da da da da..
Yah yah yah.. (probably panggil Ayah)

Kalo dy nak tgk video kegemaran, letak je depan TV (blom on TV lagi) dah tepuk tangan. Kalo ade part yg menakjubkan to her in the video, she'll clap again and again.

Current fav TV show: Baby MacDonald. Tak berkedip. YBCR sudah jatuh ke tangga ke2. Pocoyo just so-so.

Duct Taped

Nadirah, Mummy love you so much. I'll drop everything in a dash whenever I heard you crying for me. But there are times I feel like duct taped you to the wall with Harmony so that I can get important task done like preparing your porridge in the morning and solat. Don't get me wrong dear, I adore you more than anything [bagi kategori bayi;bak kate Abi] but please spare your precious serak voice and stop crying unnecessarily. I'm not gonna leave you locked up in the house alone with your hairy sister.

Having said that, Mummy really love the "Most Wanted"-feeling-treatment that you give me for the last 10 short months. I'm surely will miss this moment later when you cry less and play more and make friends and go to school and staying in boarding school and getting married. Uwaaaa.

Ok dear, do whatever you feel like doing now.

Kuching 10 bulan!

Nadirah is 10 month young already?!

Uwa. How fast time flies eh. Mummy seriously cannot catch up with the speed anymore . Fly fly fly. Then come happy gugugaga Friday and next tup tap the depressing Monday morning starts again. The cycle begins and after 4 times, nadirah grows older by another month!

Anyway, where were we last weekend? KUCHING! yeah, you heard me. Meowwww! We went to Kuching last weekend, went on Saturday morning and came back on Sunday. 2 days 1 night trip. Haha. How kewl is that? Yes and No. Not so kewl coz Penat mak enonnnn! BUT BUT BUT we enjoy the short gateway tremendously!

My sister and hubby are residing there so we stayed at their place for the night. Arrived in Kuching Airport around 10am and Aunty Nen, Uncle Yasir and Aisyah were already there waiting for us. We came in a HUGE group of 6 - Mummy, Abi, Opah, Maryam Nadirah, Maryam Harmoni and Mama Pikok. Alhamdulillah Mummy and Abi didn't have to pay for Maryam Harmony and Mama Pikok. Mummy sorok both of them in large handbag and they were quite troughout the journey. Oh yah, it was Nadirah first journey on a plane! Hiphip Hurrey! She's soo like Mummy, attention-seeker-bebeh. Bising btol dalam flight buat bunyi AAaaaaAAaa..AaaaAAAaaaa..AaaaAAAaaaaa. Alhamdulillah tak nangis and the journey just took about 1hour and 40minutes.

Ok, then we straight away serbu rumah Imah and ate our breakfast. Then we went to Pasar Sarikin/Serikin. Wowweh. It's situated at the Border between Sarawak and Kalimantan. We spent almost 3 hours there + journey to and fro around 2 hours plus plus so total time spent for the trip = close to 7 hours! Mmg sampai kuchingg all of us were flat. We had our dinner at Aunty Nen's house sedap giler maid tu masak seafooodd, menjilat jari kaki. Nadirah ratah ikan terubuk goreng macam orang tuwe and I have to stop her from eating after her long eat-ton marathon! Fresh terubuk, not masin. Mmg sedappppp. Ikan terubuk goreng 4 ekor besar mcm Giant. Cicah air kicap cili padi. Siakap asam pedas. Udang sweet sour. Sambal tempoyak. Ulam. Air ribena. Nenas. ^_^

We lepak there till magrib. Mandi2, refresh ourself and then balik rumah Imah. by 8pm we called it a day already.

Sunday morning, we were still tired and lepak at home till Zohor. Mind you Zohor in Kuching is one hour earlier than us so around 12 plus, zohor dah. After Zohor we went to Dayang Salhah kek lapis shop and borong RM200 worth of kek lapis. Opah la borong banyak. Dapat satu kek free. Hehe. Then had our lunch at ChilliPeppers @ Rubber Road, sponsored by Uncle Yasir and Aunty Nen. TQ so much! Moga murah rezeki selalu! Oh yah, it's Imah's birthday anyway! Happy birthday MakYang dari Nadirah tersayang. :-) Then borong ikan terubuk and finally our final pit-stop is Waterfront and borong some sourveniers.

A brief tour to Kuching but definitely we'll be coming back! So many places to see and so many exciting eating places that we missed, so Kuching: Version Revisited is now park in our diary next year, insya-Allah. A lay back, clean, relaxing city. Great place indeed!

Last but not least, Happy 10th month birthday si sayang comel Mummy! Mummy Abi love you so much!
