For the past 2 nights I'm suffering from severe right ear-ache. We're going to meet Dr Kuljit today. Abi is not feeling well too, and both of us are not going to work. Monday blues, probably.
Wan and Opah have arrived yesterday. Opah from KB and Wan from Makkah. Nadirah is showers with lots of love, both are trying to woo-ing nadirah but most of the time failed.
I hate Mondays.
Updates:
Dr Kuljit is a super cool gila2 remaja kind of doctor! Haha. Soon after we seated in his office suit, he introduced himself. "Hi, I'm Dr Kuljit. I'm the ENT specialist here. I hope you're seeing the right doctor." At that point, I was like "Saiko ke?" (dalam hati la) and politely replied, "Yes, sure." He then added, "Actually there was a case. One patient came to see me and told me all her problem until I realized she was actually wanted to see an eye-specialist and thought that E of ENT is for eyes!" Haha.
Back to my problem earlier. I seriously can't sleep due to the sharp pain. Doc asked me to described whether the pain is just a sharp pain or the pain is moving inwards. That is a very hard question to answer. I said, just plain sharp pain. I can't really sleep the night before and the night before before. But the pain doesn't stay long, it comes and goes. When it comes, I have to cover the ear with my hand.
Ok, here come the interesting bit. He took a probe that looks like a soldering gun, but larger. He poked that into my ear and actually it is a camera and the image is projected on a BIG screen. The screen is at least 28", clear and crispy and coloured image. And DANG. Instantly the deep ear exploration discovered the culprit that causes the pain. What? Lo and behold, the ear-wax! LOL!! Haha. He then checked on the other ear - clean and clear! Just one ear? Why? "God didn't make two things the same," said Dr Kuljit. Hoho. Anyway, if you wish to see ear wax as huge as 28" screen, Dr Kuljit is definitely the best doctor to see. I have the habit of korek telinga using cotton bud every day coz the right ear always feels itchy and yes, I have to admit, it feels so goooooooood after korek telinga, one of the bestest thing to do in the whole world (at least to me!). Dr Kuljit said that my habit causes this to happen! And his piece of advice, "Stop using the cotton bud after this, else you'll make people like me earn more money!" He prescribed an ear drop and I have to see him again this Friday.
This is what I found from the internet:
The usage of cotton buds to clean the ear is a common practice globally. It is one of the common causes of impacted ear wax. The tip of the cotton bud acts like a ram rod and pushes the wax deeper into the ear canal while it cleans the sides of the ear canal. Everyone knows how satisfying it is to have your ear canals cleaned, which explains why people continue to do it.
Impacted ear wax is one of the commonest cause of temporary deafness both in adults and children. Our ear produces wax to protect the ear canal and to give it a waterproof coating. But sometimes for some reason, there is a build up of ear wax which causes symptoms of deafness, itching, earache and sometimes even infections.
Funny as it may sound, but it's not funny when the pain strike! Alhamdulillah. Before I met him, I was so scared thinking the worst of worst thing that could happen to my ear - Cochlea has busted, blockage at Eustachian tube etc. Alhamdulillah. Allah can make it worst, but He didn't. I learnt my lesson. Never used a cotton bud to clean the ear. "Just wait and see," pesan Dr Kuljit.
Ok doc, see you Friday!
